But getting to the heart of what people need, and how they feel about what you’ve built is never easy. A remote world with challenges ranging from connecting over Zoom meetings, to audio issues, to the disconnection that comes from having a screen between you and them can make the process even more daunting. How to effectively brainstorm in a remote environment

By Chris Vasquez May 26, 2022 It’s important to have methods for idea generation that really work in an increasingly remote world. Here’s what’s worked for us. One of the things that seemed most challenging when AWeber was transitioning from a physical location to becoming a remote team was figuring out how we’d effectively brainstorm. So much good creative work comes from people putting their heads together, identifying problems to be solved, and coming up with ways to solve them. Historically at AWeber, we had done this by swinging by someone’s desk, or catching them in a common space and working things through on a white board. How could we maintain this free-flowing innovation when people weren’t in the same physical space (or even the same time zone)? It turns out i...

“Water Cooler” Moments in a Remote Work World?

LinkedIn Stories is the career network’s latest pitch to reach a younger demographic. The feature could help your company reach that audience, too. Released in September, stories may be new to LinkedIn, but they’re not new to social media. First popularized by Snapchat, disappearing posts have been replicated as Instagram and Facebook Stories, YouTube Stories—and most recently, Twitter Fleets. Short-form social video ismore popular than ever. Instagram Stories counts 500 million daily active users worldwide. More than 10 million people in the U.S. log on to TikTok everyday. New Alexa Care Hub Keeps a Remote Eye on Older Relatives | by Tapaan Chauhan | Dec, 2020

Once Care Hub is set up, you’ll be able to access a feed of all your loved ones’ interactions with an Echo device or other connected smart home device. This lets you know what they’re doing and what room of the home they’re in. You can also set up a feature to alert you if no activity is detected by a particular time of day. When people are separated for safety reasons, the Care Hub is an excellent option for staying connected that allows you to check in on loved ones without violating their privacy. While the Care Hub isn’t the same as seeing someone in person, it can provide peace of mind when you have elderly parents or relatives that live alone.1. 3 Tips for your Voice and Chatbot Program from Gartner’s Customer Service Hype Cycle 20202. The Future of Remote Work Post-Pandemic

Remote work will be here to stay post-pandemic, but more likely in advanced economies and in higher concentrations among workers in highly skilled roles and those who are highly educated, according to recent research from McKinsey & Company. The report was based on an in-depth analysis of 2,000 tasks, 800 jobs, and nine countries conducted by McKinsey researchers (see the full methodology here). Workers in the finance/insurance, management, professional/technical services, and IT/telecommunications industries could work remotely more than half the time with no productivity loss, the analysis found. Those sectors tend to have a significant share of workers with college degrees or higher. On the other hand, workers in fields like agriculture, accommodation, and food service currently hav...
