Why Your 4th Team Member Kills Your Agency’s Profit Margins.

Nobody talks about the $2,388. Not the job boards. Not the agency growth podcasts. Not the founder threads on Reddit where everyone’s sharing their “0 to $30k/month” stories. But that number, $2,388, is what one new team member adds to your tool bill every single year. Just from one tool. Before they’ve scheduled a single post, written a single caption, or sent a single client report. And if you’re running a social media agency and you just hired, or you’re about to hire your 4th person? That number is already eating your margins. You just haven’t seen it show up yet. At SocialPilot, we’ve watched agencies hit this exact wall more times than we can count. The salary gets blamed. The hire gets second-guessed. The tool bill never comes up. You made the right call hiring. The instinct was cor...

Reddit Posts Significant Increase in Revenue in Q2

Reddit has published its latest performance report, showing steady increases in ad revenue and usage in Q2 2025, as it continues to refine and improve its business elements. Though its user growth did slow a little in the last three months, and its costs are rising. Here’s a look at the latest data from the Reddit team. First off, on users. Reddit rose to 110.4 million daily active users in Q2, a slight increase on its Q1 numbers. As you can see in this chart, Reddit’s international growth slowed significantly in Q2, while its U.S. usage remains fairly stagnant. That could suggest that Reddit’s popularity is beginning to plateau, and the fact that it’s losing momentum in international markets could be a concern. Still, Reddit says that it remains confident in its growth opportunities. A...

Hootsuite CEO Irina Novoselsky on marketing to Gen Z

Around this time every year, I like to reflect on my upbringing. I moved to the US from Ukraine at a young age, and my parents had less than $300 in their pocket to start an entirely new life. It shaped the way I see the world — and the way I approach business, even to this day. It also taught me the value of adaptability and being open to new perspectives. These are two skills that leaders need now more than ever as we experience a massive shake-up in the business world, thanks to a generation that’s turning the status quo on its head. Yes, I’m talking about Gen Z, the group responsible for breaking the marketing funnel and making the business playbooks we use every day obsolete. It’s why I dedicated four months speaking to over 500 Gen Zers working at B2B organizations. Keep scr...

Reddit says that this updated ad format is better aligned with mobile users, and includes elements like auto-population of the email field “for a frictionless user experience.” And early testers have driven good response: “During beta testing, advertisers across various industries experienced improvements in lead quality and campaign performance. Reddit Shares Performance Data and Growth Strategy Ahead of Coming IPO

Reddit’s IPO is almost here, with the company filing its S-1 registration with the SEC today, which outlines its current finances and strategic goals, ahead of the pending listing. And there are some interesting notes in the data provided. First off, Reddit, which will soon be listed on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol “RDDT”, claims that it has over 73 million daily active users, and 500 million monthly visitors. Which is a highly unusual split of daily to monthly active usage. In general, most social platforms see a 1:1.8 ratio of daily/monthly users, with some variance. Facebook, for example, has 2.11b DAU and 3.07b MAU (x1.45), while Snapchat has 414m DAU/800m MAU (x1.9). As you can see in this example, Reddit has launched a new test of what it’s calling ‘Mod Notes’, which enables moderators to create informational notes and tips that are then attached to a user profile for that community. Here’s another look at the Mod Notes process, which also includes a full log of notes and mod actions applied to a user within a specific subreddit.  As explained by Reddit: “The profile hovercard will be your home base for accessing Mod Notes and any moderator with Manage User permissions will be able to utilize it.” So it’s not intended to be a public-facing info source, as such...

Twitter’s Working on Tweet Awards, Another Creator Monetization Option

After adding tipping along with its Super Follow and other subscription options, Twitter now appears to be working on a new ‘Awards’ option for tweets, which would potentially provide another way for creators to generate income from their on-platform efforts. As you can see in this image, shared by reverse engineering expert Jane Manchun Wong, the new award option appears as a gift icon in the lower tweet function bar. There’s also a microphone icon before Wong’s user name in this example, which appears to be connected with Super Follows, though what it actually means is not clear as yet. Awards looks similar to Facebook’s virtual gifts, which are purchasable with Stars, its in-app currency to donate to creators, while YouTube also has its own ‘Super Stickers’ option to facilitate the s...

According to statistics, successful B2B marketing spends 40% of their marketing budget on content marketing. But, unlike B2C companies targeting general consumers who gravitate to entertaining and attractive content, B2B content marketing is a different ball game. It’s also more than scouring a list of keywords to write occasional blogs or running paid ads on social media once a month. You need to precisely understand your target audience to develop a solid B2B content marketing strategy that yields results. In th...

“Water Cooler” Moments in a Remote Work World?

LinkedIn Stories is the career network’s latest pitch to reach a younger demographic. The feature could help your company reach that audience, too. Released in September, stories may be new to LinkedIn, but they’re not new to social media. First popularized by Snapchat, disappearing posts have been replicated as Instagram and Facebook Stories, YouTube Stories—and most recently, Twitter Fleets. Short-form social video ismore popular than ever. Instagram Stories counts 500 million daily active users worldwide. More than 10 million people in the U.S. log on to TikTok everyday. Microsoft, LinkedIn’s parent company, even attempted to acquire TikTok last year. But will the off-the-cuff format click with young professionals on LinkedIn? According to a post by LinkedIn’s senior product manager Gil...
