Reddit Posts Significant Increase in Revenue in Q2

Reddit has published its latest performance report, showing steady increases in ad revenue and usage in Q2 2025, as it continues to refine and improve its business elements. Though its user growth did slow a little in the last three months, and its costs are rising. Here’s a look at the latest data from the Reddit team. First off, on users. Reddit rose to 110.4 million daily active users in Q2, a slight increase on its Q1 numbers. As you can see in this chart, Reddit’s international growth slowed significantly in Q2, while its U.S. usage remains fairly stagnant. That could suggest that Reddit’s popularity is beginning to plateau, and the fact that it’s losing momentum in international markets could be a concern. Still, Reddit says that it remains confident in its growth opportunities. A...

Reddit Launches Lead Generation Ads

Reddit has launched its own version of Lead Gen Ads, which will enable marketers to gather prospective customer info direct from their promotions in the app. As you can see in this example, Reddit’s Lead Gen Ads function pretty much as you would expect. The ads include a “Sign Up” CTA (or similar), which, when clicked, takes the user through to a sign-up form, where they can enter their details. Reddit says that this updated ad format is better aligned with mobile users, and includes elements like auto-population of the email field “for a frictionless user experience.” And early testers have driven good response: “During beta testing, advertisers across various industries experienced improvements in lead quality and campaign performance. LaunchDarkly, a feature management platform that...

Reddit Shares Performance Data and Growth Strategy Ahead of Coming IPO

Reddit’s IPO is almost here, with the company filing its S-1 registration with the SEC today, which outlines its current finances and strategic goals, ahead of the pending listing. And there are some interesting notes in the data provided. First off, Reddit, which will soon be listed on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol “RDDT”, claims that it has over 73 million daily active users, and 500 million monthly visitors. Which is a highly unusual split of daily to monthly active usage. In general, most social platforms see a 1:1.8 ratio of daily/monthly users, with some variance. Facebook, for example, has 2.11b DAU and 3.07b MAU (x1.45), while Snapchat has 414m DAU/800m MAU (x1.9). Reddit claims to have a variation of x6.8 DAU to MAU, which is way out of proportion for those averag...

Reddit Updates its Design to Improve the…

The social media organization revealed its new update in a post on Monday. Reddit’s overarching goal is to make it easier for those coming to the platform for the first time to find engaging, relevant content. To bring this plan to fruition, Reddit has simplified the search page by introducing a new layout. On mobile, users previously received a confusing blend of posts, comments, and communities when entering specific queries. Now, the search results will prioritize posts over all other elements, making it more straightforward for logged-out users to find interesting content. On Reddit’s desktop client, logged-out users will now see a sticky sidebar, allowing them to scroll through content to find relevant posts and communities. To make the user experience more fluid, Reddit has also impro...

Reddit Tests ‘Mod Notes’ to Provide More Insight on Users and Their Contributions in Communities

Reddit has launched an interesting experiment which essentially provides advice and ratings on contributors to subreddits, enabling more context as to how the user has contributed in the past. As you can see in this example, Reddit has launched a new test of what it’s calling ‘Mod Notes’, which enables moderators to create informational notes and tips that are then attached to a user profile for that community. Here’s another look at the Mod Notes process, which also includes a full log of notes and mod actions applied to a user within a specific subreddit.  As explained by Reddit: “The profile hovercard will be your home base for accessing Mod Notes and any moderator with Manage User permissions will be able to utilize it.” So it’s not intended to be a public-facing info source, as such...
